WANA (Dec 30) – Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian emphasized Iran’s commitment to fostering peace and security across the region and among all Islamic nations. He called for deeper collaboration between Iran and Oman to achieve this goal.

 

During a meeting on Monday with Oman’s Foreign Minister, Sayyid Badr bin Hamad bin Hamoud al-Busaidi, President Pezeshkian described the bilateral relationship as “historic, cordial, and friendly,” extending across various fields and levels. He stressed that strengthening these constructive ties is of significant importance to Iran.

 

The President highlighted the upcoming session of the Joint Economic Cooperation Commission, which aims to expedite the implementation of past agreements and facilitate new understandings between the two countries.

 

President Pezeshkian stated that his administration’s foreign policy prioritizes expanding relations and consolidating cooperation with all Islamic, neighboring, and friendly nations, noting Oman’s special status.

 

He emphasized that disputes among regional countries and Muslim nations enable malign actors, such as Israel, to exploit the situation, which is neither acceptable nor desirable.

Reiterating Iran’s vision for regional peace and security, he urged for more serious collaboration with Oman to address shared concerns and opportunities.

 

On the other side, Oman’s Foreign Minister, delivering warm greetings from Sultan Haitham bin Tariq Al Said to Iran’s Supreme Leader, President, and the Iranian people, underlined the deep-rooted and historic ties between the two nations, built on trust and goodwill.

 

Al-Busaidi praised the bilateral relationship as a model of cooperation based on mutual friendship and trust. He affirmed that expanding relations with Iran remains a steadfast policy for Oman.

 

“We consistently support Iran’s wise approaches, both domestically and in foreign policy,” he said, adding that Oman’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs is committed to advancing shared goals and initiatives between the two countries.
